How simple is the process?
Our video is a condensed version of the simple process of fitting your Mahkota hair system.
The Video features Debbie, fitting and completing a polyskin hair system following an in-depth consultation with the client. Our consultations involve discussions on your preferred style, colour matching to get you the perfect natural hair, pricing, upkeep and ending with a patch test. We will answer any and all questions you have during this consultation.

1) Initial Hair System fitting
£599
This will be the very first time you will experience having your hair system fitted. This price will include full fitting, cutting and styling of your hair system. Once you are ready to leave feeling totally fabulous, you will be given a free satin pillowcase (courtesy of Mahkota) to help you sleep soundly and keep your system looking its best.

Card payments offered on all services
A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required prior to your stylist ordering your colour matched hair system. This applies to all clients. The remaining payment will be taken when completed

2) Your regular haircut appointment
£60
This service is for customers who already have a Mahkota hair sytem fitted. We recommend your regular trim is carried out approximately every 3-5 weeks to keep you looking fabulous (dependant on each individual clients' work/exercise regime) During this appointment your hair system will be removed, cleaned and rebonded. Your natural bio-hair will also be cut at this point and included in this price.

3) Replacement hair system

This is where we revert back to stage 1 - the initial hair system fitting. We recommend your hair system will need fully replacing approximately every 3-4 months. After this length of time we would expect your hair system to no longer be at its best and our aim is to keep you feeling and looking fabulous.

Debbie has over 15 years experience within the barbering industry. She is the founder and owner of Guv'nors Barbershop in Great Wyrley, which is one of the most successful and busiest barbers within the village of Great Wyrley.

How can I book a consultation?

Do I have to have a consultation?
Yes - this is mandatory for every client. The consultation allows us to explain the process in more detail, and answer any further questions you may have. During the consultation we will also colour match your hair to obtain the best matched hair system for you and carry out a patch test to ensure you do not have any allergic reactions to the products we will be using. Dont worry, the consultation is FREE! You have nothing to lose!
I have a general question, do I need a consultation just to ask?
Please feel free to contact us via email at info@mahkota.co.uk should you have a question you would like answering. The consultation is an important part of the process, but we can answer simple general questions beforehand. Please reach out to us!
How long do the hair systems last before getting a new one?
If clients fully adhere to the aftercare information provided by the Mahkota stylist, we estimate each hair system will need fully replacing after approximately 3-4 months. This is dependant on your individual lifestyle/work and exercise regime, however this will be discussed during your consultation.
How long does the hair system stay on my head at one time?
Our systems need to be refitted/regroomed around every 3-5 weeks (see stage 2 above) However, this will depend on your lifetyle and how active you are or if you have a physical job. All will be discussed in your consultation so you will have an answer that is personal to you.
Can I play sports with the hair system
Yes of course! However, wearing a headguard for the likes of boxing or rugby, or a swimming hat when swimming would help keep your system protected.
Can I wash my hair system in the shower?
Over washing will lead to drying out of the hair system and could fade the colour and breakdown the bonding adhesive. We recommend using only conditioner, by smoothing over the hair system and allowing the water from the shower to run down and simply rinse the conditioner off. Persistent rubbing of the hair system may cause a breakdown of the bonding adhesive.
What hair styles can I have with my hair system?
ANY! The style you want will be discussed in your consultation, and you can try a new one when you come for a replacement fitting. We just need to know/discuss in advance, so we will decide your next style, should you wish to change it, prior to ordering your new system.
What hair products can I use on my hair system?
It is highly recommended to use our fully tested products we offer here at Mahkota which are water soluble. We stock products at Mahkota and you can purchase these whenever you require them. We stock and sell a range of products which are guaranteed to not affect your hair system, however should you choose to use any other non recommended products, it could affect your hair system and you may need a full replacement sooner than anticipated.
Can I sleep wearing my hair system?
Yes. You do not have to remove the system between refitting sessions. You can sleep in your system, but we recommend you do not use a cotton pillowcase. Using a satin pillowcase means less friction of the system and Mahkota will gift a free satin pillowcase to each client after the initial fitting. You will still get 'bed head', but that is something to look forward to! Nothing a quick brush and water won't solve.
Does the hair system have to be removed between refitting sessions?
No. Please leave this to the professionals here at Mahkota and do not attempt to remove the hair system.
What happens to my natural hair underneath?
In the time between refitting sessions, any hair under the system that grows is usually fairly insignificant and will be trimmed off when the system is removed during your regular haircut (stage 2) appointment.
How is this different to a wig or toupee?
The systems used by Mahkota have the most delicate membranes into which the natural hairs are locked. This means you cannot see them and it is this exceptional technology that gives Mahkota clients that all-important natural hairline which is a on another level compared to the thicker old-school style toupees and wigs of old. The Mahkota systems also offer a wide range of precise colour matching shades including varying aspects of grey hair needed for a more age-appropriate natural look. Our hair systems contain completely natural human hair, however, all added grey is totally synthetic hair.
Can anyone cut and restyle the system if I just go to any barbershop?
No. Mahkota has invested in detailed and highly technical training to add to the skill base of their already highly experienced barbers. This special training means Mahkota can ensure your hair system is maintained, cut/styled, treated correctly and kept looking at its best.
Does it ever move or become loose?
It would be wrong to say that you may never have to do a little bit of maintenance, but the majority of our clients say they do not have any issues between refitting sessions. We also provide further information and ongoing support for all clients. If further assistance or advice is needed, you are never on your own with Mahkota. Any minor adjustments that you may need to do are easily done yourself at home, however should you require our expert advice, please contact us via email or our social media pages.
How much does it cost?
All the Mahkota prices are here on the website, but ongoing costs will depend on your lifestyle, how active you are and how you take care of your hair system.
Where is Mahkota located?
Mahkota is located inside 24/7 Fitness gym in Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 0XF. Our salon, although located within a busy gym, offers a relaxed atmosphere with complete privacy and discretion, and your fitting sessions will not be disturbed. There is a doorbell located directly opposite the front door inside the main foyer entrance to the gym. When you arrive, if your Mahkota stylist is not waiting downstairs for you, please ring the doorbell and wait.
Why are you called Mahkota?
The founder of Mahkota - Debbie, has a deep connection with Indonesia, as she has volunteered on two occasions to work with orphaned orangutans in rehabilitation sanctuaries. Mahkota means 'crown' within the Indonesian language. As our tagline for Mahkota is 'Wear your crown like a King', and given the personal service we are offering, it seems relevant to have called the business a name that has a deep personal connection to Debbie. Why not ask about her work in Indonesia while having your hair system fitted!
What are your opening hours?
To begin, we will only be open on Thursdays and Saturdays for haircuts, consultations and new fittings. Please contact us to arrange a consultation/appointment, and we will aim to arrange a suitable time that meets with your availability. We anticipate that our operating hours will increase upon demand and our website and social media channels will be updated with this information.

Yes! Please follow us on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. You can find the links at the bottom of the website. Here you will be able to see examples of our work and any updates about Mahkota. As a customer, you will ALWAYS have a choice if you wish to be featured with your new hair system on our social media platforms. We will never take/use any photographs or videos without first having your consent to include them within our media gallery or platforms.
Is there disabled access to Mahkota?
Yes. As Mahkota is based upstairs within the gym, there is a lift to cater for wheelchair access.
